It's that time of year again -Baton Rouge's signature farm to table event! The Slow Food Fall Heat fundraising event showcases the culinary arts, local food, mixologists, and raises awareness of the need to support food access and a more sustainable, local food system. Small plates will be prepared by local chefs who are asked to source from Louisiana growers where each chef is participating in a friendly chef completion. For the 2nd year there will be a cocktail competition featuring local mixologists. Food and drinks will be accompanied by music from Baton Rouge's own, The Humble Kind.Chefs competing for awards will be introduced prior to the event. A jury of local judges will evaluate the chefs at the event and will decide a first and second place winner. Attendees will also have the opportunity to vote for their own People's Choice award for best small plate and cocktail. The Fall Heat is a benefit with proceeds dedicated entirely to Baton Rouge's only comprehensive farm to school pilot program Greauxing Healthy Baton Rouge (GHBR).
