Luca Di Martino owns Latte e Miele, Baton Rouge’s first gelato shop. Luca’s parents are from Europe and Luca grew up with an appreciation of local, homegrown flavors. Luca has brought that passion with him to Baton Rouge and you can taste it. Luca works directly with farmers as well as local, backyard growers to make South Louisiana-specific flavors. Latte e Miele features local ingredients such as satsumas, heirloom figs, and Highland Road blackberries, just to name a few. Luca will be opening another shop soon next to Bocage Shopping Center that will serve specialty sandwiches, salads, desserts, wine, and beer, as well as having a retail section selling packaged cookies, candies, and local products. Luca is committed to sourcing as many local products as possible and will change the menu monthly to celebrate what each season has to offer.
