Fall Heat 2018
Fall is here and that means one thing - Slow Food Baton Rouge's Fall Heat is back! The 6th annual local celebrity chef cooking and cocktail competition is getting bigger and better this year with more chefs (12) and mixologists! The Slow Food Fall Heat is Baton Rouge's annual fall farm to table showcase, celebrating local food, chefs, mixologists, and the community.
The competing chefs will prepare small plates and a jury of local judges will evaluate each chef's creation. Again this year, there will be a cocktail competition featuring local mixologists preparing drinks from locally made spirits. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their own People's Choice award for best chef and Best Cocktail.
Food and drinks will be accompanied by live music by the Ben Bell Trio and there will be some activities and food for children under 12 years old.
The Slow Food Fall Heat fundraising event showcases the culinary arts, local food, and raises awareness of the need to support food access and a more sustainable, local food system. Preceeds from our annual fundraisers goes toward supporting school gardens in an around the East Baton Rouge Parish school system.
Note: in the unlikely chance of rain and cancellation of the Fall Heat, there will be no refunds. Please consider any ticket sales as a donation to Slow Food Baton Rouge and it's farm to school programming. Slow Food Baton Rouge is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and relies on donations for programs to support a more sustainable, just, local food system.
